You have personal trainers, then you have Matt Lazenby. It’s one thing to be fit, it’s another thing to be fit with the right mindset. Matt has a way of really making sure your mindset is in the right place before you begin to train to the level he knows you can. Most people want to jump into fancy exercises, lift the most with horrible form that probably will lead to injury. Matt makes sure you progress at the right, smart, healthy pace. You can look like a God, but if your mind is not right, what does that really mean? Matt will make sure you get your body and mind right and you won’t even realize it, he is that good. I could not recommend a better trainer and mind coach in Colombia or anywhere for that manner. I had the pleasure of training with Matt in person, but now that I have left the country I am continuing his online classes so I don’t lose my progress. I had always struggled with the discipline of regularly attending a gym and found I was paying out for membership but not really seeing any benefit. When I finally plucked up the courage to contact Matt about some personal training sessions I was very nervous about going to a gym, as I’d had previously bad experiences before and was not particularly fond of working out either. I was expecting to struggle to keep motivated and maybe be tempted to quit half way through the program. I was excited to discover that Matt’s tailored approach to training and nutrition offers so much more and that was something really refreshing and it has really been instrumental in helping me stick to the programme and keep coming back. Matt has been my trainer for 2 years now. He is very professional, has a very positive attitude and keeps the high standards in our sessions while still making them fun! I initially chose Matt as I was looking for someone with experience of working with different kinds of people, as our bodies are different and react differently to training. I wanted someone who knows what he is doing and is really good at this. Matt is a person who keeps an eye on details and ensures all the exercises are done correctly, keeping the correct angles, weights, reps, etc. Also, what caught my attention, Matt takes notes through out the session so it is easy to analyse progress and achievements. During the session, he will give you 100% of his attention, not like other trainers, I have seen some of them use their mobile phone and browse the internet whilst you are doing your set. I initially booked Matt on the basis of his experience and depth of knowledge to help me understand how to maximise my training routine at the gym. Within my first few training sessions with Matt it was evident that Matt (who has a huge personality and is lots of fun) was passionate and committed to what he did for a living providing each client with a personal fitness programme tailored to stretching them one step at a time . I have been dieting to lose weight for a while, but last November I realised it didn’t work for me. In addition, I didn’t have any muscles. I realised I needed to change. It was at this point that Matt started the first class and began to up my strength training and teach me better lifestyle to keep raising my confidence. This positive, uplifting session has been going three times a week for nearly six months now. In this half year, I eat more (even pizza, burger and chicken nugget), sleep more, have more physical strength to exercise everyday and also can better focus on my study. So today is the day after my 36th session with Matt. The last session in the training block. What’s changed? How long have you got? So, so much. Young and unfit – goodbye ‘lazy’ lifestyle. I have just completed a 9 week course with Matt. Personally, going to the gym has never been an ideal way to make use of my time, between not knowing what to do and how to do it.
